We’ve been building websites for over 10 years. In that time we have gained a vast amount of experience and knowledge.

Below you’ll find answers to many of the questions we were asked along the way.

If your question isn’t answered below, please feel free to call us on 01257 444 222, we’re always happy to chat.

Can I visit you at your offices?
Of course!  Many of our customers prefer to visit us in person to talk about their website design at our Chorley offices.

Give us a call on 01257 444 222 to arrange a time to pop down.

We’re at Unit 16 Roundhouse Court, Barnes Wallis Way, Buckshaw Village, Chorley, PR7 7JN.

Will my website work on mobile phones and tablets like iPads?
Yes.  All our website are built to be responsive, which means they automatically adjust themselves to look great on any size of device.

If your current website is not “mobile friendly”, then now is the time to update it.  On April 21st 2015, Google changed their algorithm to specifically penalise non mobile friendly websites in the search rankings.

Will I be able to add blog articles and make other changes to my website myself?

Yes.  All our websites are built in WordPress, the most popular (by a long way) and easy to use content management system.

You can add, remove and change anything on your site, including blog articles, pages, products, and much more – and the changes are instantly shown live on your website.  We’ll show you how to log on and use the system, however it is extremely easy.  You’ll be blogging away in no time!

Will my website be fast?
Our cloud hosting is completely UK based and is extremely fast, reliable and secure.  It is specifically optimised for WordPress websites, which is the platform on which we build all our websites.

For extremely busy websites (thousands to millions of visitors a day), we have the option of activating our CDN (Content Delivery Network). This places the content of your website in to a fast cache, enabling large volumes of people to access your website at the same time. In addition, the system also places copies of your website on servers around the globe so visitors receive a copy that is geographically local to them – making delivery even faster.

Can I use my existing domain name?
Of course.  If you have already registered a domain name or already have a website, we can transfer it over to us while retaining you as the legal registered domain owner.
How long does it take to build a website?

Normal (brochure) websites usually take about two weeks, sometimes less.  The timeline depends a lot on whether you have your content ready to go, possibly from an old website.

Online shop websites can take a little longer, depending on how many products you wish to sell on your website.

Will people be able to pay for goods directly on my website?
Yes.  We use WooCommerce, the most popular shopping cart on the planet, which means we can integrate virtually any payment gateway (e.g. PayPal, WorldPay and Stripe) to allow your visitors to pay with their credit or debit card.  We usually recommend using Stripe as it looks more professional and has cheaper transaction fees.

Stripe charges 1.4% + 20p per transaction, compared to PayPal that charge 3.4% + 20p per transaction.  Stripe also pays-out on a 7 day rolling basis, unlike PayPal that will often hold funds back and only transfer to your bank account on your request.

Do I have to pay for my website all at once?

Absolutely not, we offer split pricing plans to suit you. We understand how difficult it can be to find funds, especially if you’re starting a new business, or if your existing website is in need of a refresh.

Just give us a call on 01257 444 222 and we can arrange payments to suit you.

Will my existing website be down while my new one is being built?

Entirely up to you.  If you wish to keep your existing website live, we can build your new one in a temporary area so your existing website is still available.

When your new website is complete, we simply flick a switch and your new website replaces your old one.

Will I be able to see my new website develop as you are building it?

Of course.  Many of our customers like to see things take shape, so we provide a temporary web address where you can see it all happening.

If you wish to keep it private, we can also place a layer of security on the temporary area so only you can log-on and see it.

Do you know a photographer that can help with my images?

Yes.  We have a few different types of photographer available for different types of work, (shop products, business interiors, portraits, etc.).  Our photographers have completed commercial work for big names like Jaguar Land Rover and Honda and captured images at events and occasions for huge celebrities like Carol Vorderman, Brian May, Trevor Nelson, Michael Owen, Cliff Richard and even ASIMO the robot!

Give us a call on 01257 444 222 to let us know your requirements.

Will my new website be backed-up in case anything happens?
Our hosting system takes a full snapshot backup of your website every night.

We also take extra manual backups of your entire website whenever we make changes for you, or install maintenance or security updates.

For more information please give us a call on 01257 444 222.

What is website and email hosting?
Website and email hosting are actually different things, however they are usually done in the same place.

Website hosting is simply providing a service that places your website on the Internet for people to see.  Our hosting packages actually provide a lot more, see our pricing page for details.

Email hosting is a service which allows you to send and receive emails from your computer, tablet, or mobile phone, in the same way as Hotmail or Gmail.  However, hosting email for your domain name means you can have a personalised email address, (e.g. myname@mydomain.co.uk, rather that myname123@hotmail.co.uk), this is obviously much more professional and gives your customers confidence in you. Our hosting packages allow you to have as many email addresses as you wish.

You can configure your email account on your computer, laptop, tablet and mobile phone, or access it anywhere from a computer connected to the Internet.
